Dear Friends and Family,
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Michael Weinberg, our Assistant Conductor for the 2015-16 season, has agreed to serve as our Interim Conductor for the coming 2016-17 season! Since joining EC, Michael has thrown himself into the spirit and mission of our group, and we are thrilled to have him guide our music-making during our search for a new Artistic Director. In his own words:
“I am honored to assume the position of Interim Conductor with Ensemble Companio for the 2016-17 season! After serving as Assistant Conductor for the past year, I feel like I've been handed the keys to the Porsche in taking on this new role, and I look forward to making beautiful music next year, as well as continuing to build bridges with our audiences during this transitional time for EC.”

Michael was recently appointed Director of Choirs at the Randolph School in Huntsville, AL and has previously served as a teaching assistant and conductor of numerous collegiate and high school ensembles in the DC area, Philadelphia, New Haven, and Boston. He holds an M.M. in choral conducting from Temple University, a B.M. summa cum laude in vocal performance from The Catholic University of America, and has completed the course requirements for the D.M.A. in choral conducting from Yale University.
